The Christmas Card Conundrum

Christmas is coming! Everyone who is so excited they could burst into “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” raise your hands. Both of mine are up so far it hurts! I absolutely LOOOOVE Christmas. Not just Christmas day, but the whole Christmas season. The Christmas season unofficially starts for me somewhere around mid-July, when I slip over to Grooveshark.com and click play on my Christmas music playlist. The Christmas season officially starts after lunch on Thanksgiving day. That’s when I pull out the Christmas cards and mailing list, and start jotting happy little notes, signing and sealing the envelopes with cute little stickers and coordinating address labels.
This year I am ordering my Christmas cards from Shutterfly (http://www.shutterfly.com) again. I ordered some from them last year and loved-loved-loved them! The designs are great, they processed and shipped my order quickly, and the print quality is excellent. But I have a problem, dear friend. I don’t know which one of those fantastic designs to choose! Here are some of my thoughts…
Going to http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-photo-cards, I find the Peppermint Bliss design.
How cute and fun is that?!? I adore peppermint at Christmas! But the options abound, and I am the kind of girl who likes to explore my options before I make a decision. I click my Back button and find Family Frame, Lovely Leaves Story, Starry Starry Snowflakes… GAH! Which one to choose? Is this year’s card bright, merry, fun? Do I go with something more traditional and serene? Clicking on http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/holiday-cards takes me to a simple, clean design called Starlight Joy.
This one is a major contender, but I also really like the options in their Religious Christmas Cards. In His Name seems to be the front-runner… along with Christ Is King and Elegant Cross.
I appreciate that Shutterfly offers card designs that relate to the real reason for the season.
I’m pretty sure I have made my choice. Have you? Great news! Shutterfly is offering 20% off all holiday cards. Just go to http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery and choose your favorite design, input your photo, and add your text. It’s so easy! (You can also check out Shutterfly on Twitter and Facebook. “50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly http://bit.ly/sfly2010 #SFLY”) Stay tuned to find out which one speaks for our family this Christmas season!

HAHAHAHA!

I got this in my e-mail this morning and just had to share it because, although MY precious little princess NEVER does any of this, I remember those days!

A man observed a woman in the grocery store with a three year old girl in her basket. As they passed the cookie section, the child asked for cookies and her mother told her "no." The little girl immediately began to whine and fuss, and the mother said quietly, "Now Ellen, we just have half of the aisles left to go through; don't be upset. It won't be long."

He passed the Mother again in the candy aisle. Of course, the little girl began to shout for candy. When she was told she couldn't have any, she began to cry. The mother said, "There, there, Ellen, don't cry. Only two more aisles to go, and then we'll be checking out."

The man again happened to be behind the pair at the check-out, where the little girl immediately began to clamour for gum and burst into a terrible tantrum upon discovering there would be no gum purchased today. The mother patiently said, "Ellen, we'll be through this check out stand in five minutes, and then you can go home and have a nice nap."

The man followed them out to the parking lot and stopped the woman to compliment her. "I couldn't help noticing how patient you were with little Ellen..."

The mother broke in, "My little girl's name is Tammy... I'm Ellen."

Bath & Body Works - Sale + Coupon = Woo-hoo!

We had a family fun day in Branson on Friday and I stopped by Bath & Body Works to pick up a bottle of Moonlight Path for my awesome mom. I had a coupon in my purse for a free full size Signature Collection product with $10 purchase, so I thought I'd snag a little something special for myself while I was at it. I was PSYCHED to find that BBW is having their Buy 2 Get 1 Free/Buy 3 Get 2 Free sale! (This is when I like to stock up because I'm like that!) I paired that with my coupon and ended up with:
1 Twisted Peppermint Shower Gel @ $10.50
1 Twisted Peppermint Body Lotion @ $10.50
1 Snow Kissed Berry Body Lotion @ FREE!
1 Moonlight Path Body Lotion @ FREE!

How exciting is that?!?
Print This Bad Boy!

By the way, you can try their new Secret Wonderland lotion for $1 and body spray for $2. I picked up one of these a couple weeks ago and found a coupon on the back of the lotion for 1 free full sized Secret Wonderland product with purchase of a Signature Collection item. It's good starting November 1, so I'll be using that one in a couple weeks!
